JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Hanson-Wilson Inc.,
a nationally recognized engineering firm serving the railroad industry,
has opened a new office in Jacksonville, Fla. An affiliation between
Hanson Professional Services Inc. and Wilson & Company Inc.,
Hanson-Wilson has served the rail industry for more than 16 years,
providing all facets of railroad engineering, operations and construction
services. Clients include all the class I railroads in North America.
Dennis Witt Jr. is vice president and program manager of the Jacksonville
office. A licensed professional engineer, Witt recently retired
from CSX Transportation after working for more than 35 years in
the engineering, mechanical and train control departments. He has
a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the Virginia Military
Institute and a MBA from the University of North Florida.
In his new role, Witt oversees operations and business development
for Hanson-Wilson. Since joining the Jacksonville office, Witt has
provided construction management and oversight for the Port of Jacksonville
Talleyrand Marine Terminal Toyota Rail Spur project.
Hanson-Wilson Inc.'s headquarters are in Kansas City, Mo. The firm
has provided engineering services on projects such as the $187 million
Union Pacific Global III Intermodal Facility in Rochelle, Ill.,
one of the largest intermodal facilities in the country; the Alameda
Corridor, a $2.4 billion transportation rail corridor in California;
and numerous other railroad projects in the United States, Canada
and Mexico. Clients include the BNSF Railway Co., Union Pacific
Railroad, Canadian National Railway Co., Canadian Pacific, Kansas
