Hanson-Wilson Inc., a nationally
recognized engineering firm serving the railroad industry, has
opened a new office in Jacksonville, Fla. An affiliation between
Hanson Professional Services Inc. and Wilson & Company Inc.,
Hanson-Wilson has served the rail industry for more than 16
years, providing all facets of railroad engineering, operations
and construction services. Clients include all the class I railroads
in North America.
Gary Potts has been named president of Hanson-Wilson
Inc., a nationally recognized engineering firm serving the
railroad industry. Sergio "Satch" Pecori has been
named chairman of the board. Pecori, who is also chief executive
officer and president of Hanson Professional Services Inc.,
has served on the HWI board since 1990.
Hanson-Wilson Inc. offered its services for the construction
of the second track for the Trinity
Railway Express (part of DART system) between Irving and
Dallas, Texas for 79-MPH train operations. The project involved
two new bridges, new interlockings, grade crossings and re-profile
of Wildwood Drive.
The North bridge approaches are nearing completion, all piles
have been driven and caps installed. The remaining bridge
beams/deck have been set. Most of the track has been installed
east of the bridge and across the Regal Row Bridge. Track
for the west approach and west for the North Main is underway.
We are proud to announce that one of the 2004-2005 REMSA
Scholarship recipients is James Freitag, the son of Joan Freitag
of Hanson-Wilson Inc. A mathematics/economics/physics major
at the University of Illinois.
Midwest Construction magazine announced that their selection
for the Best of 2003 - Transportation Project of the Year
was the Union Pacific Railroad Global III Intermodal Facility
in Rochelle, Ill. Hanson-Wilson was the designer on this design-build
project, which is reported to be the largest of its kind in
the Midwest and one of the largest in the country. More than
25 trains and 3,000 containers pass through the terminal each
